昨年、やまぐちアートコミュニケータープログラム2025：架空の学校「アルスコーレ」の一環として、市民有志と大友良英、現代音頭作曲家の山中カメラ、ダンサーの福留麻里らと共作した新作盆踊り「やまぐち盆唄」。生演奏に乗せて秋の街を彩る盆踊りを、山口市の秋の風物詩とすべく、地元商店街と協働して2年連続で開催します。会場は山口駅から山口県庁を結ぶ目抜き通りと、アーケードが交わる交差点。日中は子どもを中心とした参加者が楽しむ「こども盆踊り」、夕方から夜にかけて、老若男女、道ゆく人もみんなで楽しむ盆踊りを二部構成で実施。新作盆踊り「やまぐち盆唄」のほか、山口市ゆかりの盆踊り「大内のお殿様」、大友、山中が各地で制作した音頭にあわせて、大きな踊りの輪を広げます。音頭の演奏は、楽器や演奏技術、経験不問で、常にメンバー募集中の市民楽団、山口ゆあーん楽団が担います。

第3期 山口市中心市街地活性化基本計画 アートでつなぐまちの活性化事業
山口市では「第3期山口市中心市街地活性化基本計画」を策定し、『まちを、楽しむ。』を全体のテーマに「居心地が良く歩きたくなるまち」「多様な人々の心が弾むまち」を目指し中心市街地の活性化に向けた取組を進めている。本事業は、「交流と創造による来街機会の創出」を目的とし、YCAMが持つ知見を活用して子どもを核とした来街のきっかけづくりを行い、まちのにぎわい創出等を図ることで、子どもから大人まで楽しめる中心市街地となることを狙いとしている。
Yamaguchi Autumn Bon Odori 2026
Bon Odori is Japanese folks dance usually happen once a year within a community. In Yamaguchi, a new dance called “Yamaguchi Bon Uta” was created last year through the Yamaguchi Art Communicator Program 2025, the new dance called “Yamaguchi Bon Uta” returns for its second consecutive year. Partnering with the local shopping district to make it a signature autumn tradition, the event takes place at a major intersection in the central shopping area. The festival features a two-part program: the daytime “Kids Bon Odori” and an evening session for everyone. Together, dancers will form a giant circle, and dancing through various movements, from contemporary to the original Bon Odori in Yamaguchi. The festive live music will be delivered by the Yamaguchi Yuaan Gakudan, a local community band that open to everyone regardless any musical level.

The 3rd Yamaguchi Central Urban Area Revitalization Basic Plan: Town Revitalization Program Connected by Art
Yamaguchi City has formulated the “3rd Yamaguchi Central Urban Area Revitalization Basic Plan” under the overarching theme “Enjoy the Town.” The city is advancing initiatives to revitalize the central urban area, aiming to create a comfortable, walkable environment where diverse people can feel inspired. Utilizing YCAM’s expertise, this project aims to create opportunities for people to visit the town—with a particular focus on children—thereby generating local vibrancy and transforming the central district into a lively area that can be enjoyed by everyone from children to adults.
